What’s rarer than a Blue Moon?
A Strawberry one of course.
Yes, it’s summer solstice and the longest day of the year but as if that’s not special enough for you, there’s something big to look forward to tonight. For the first time in almost 70 years the solstice will coincide with a full moon and we should have a Strawberry Moon.
Don’t expect a big old strawberry colored moon though, the names comes from the season being one of berries and it’ll actually be more rose or honey colored…unless we are so very lucky. There might be a very logical explanation about it being low in the sky and humidity but I choose to merely marvel at the spectacle.
I think I will adopt that saying from now on, Once in a Strawberry Moon, it sounds so much more sophisticated and apt to spark conversation, don’t you think?
